Description
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Fortinet FortiOS 7.4.0 through 7.4.1, FortiOS 7.2 all versions, FortiPAM 1.8.0 through 1.8.2, FortiPAM 1.7 all versions, FortiPAM 1.6 all versions, FortiPAM 1.5 all versions, FortiPAM 1.4 all versions, FortiPAM 1.3 all versions, FortiPAM 1.2 all versions, FortiPAM 1.1 all versions, FortiPAM 1.0 all versions, FortiProxy 7.4.0 through 7.4.13, FortiProxy 7.2 all versions may allow a privileged authenticated attacker who can bypass stack protection and ASLR to execute arbitrary code or commands via crafted HTTP requests.
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in Fortinet FortiOS versions 7.4.0 through 7.4.1, all versions of FortiOS 7.2, FortiPAM versions 1.8.0 through 1.8.2, and all versions of FortiPAM 1.7, 1.6, 1.5, 1.4, 1.3, 1.2, 1.1, and 1.0. This vulnerability may allow a privileged authenticated attacker who can bypass stack protection and Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) to execute arbitrary code or commands by sending crafted HTTP requests.
Users can upgrade Fortinet FortiOS to version 7.4.2 or above, FortiPAM to version 1.8.3 or above, and FortiProxy to version 7.4.14 or above. For Fortinet FortiOS 7.2, 1.7, 1.6, 1.5, 1.4, 1.3, 1.2, 1.1, and 1.0, users should migrate to a fixed release. A virtual patch named 'FG-VD-10009513.0day' is available in Fortinet's FMWP database update 26.062.
