Description
Missing Cryptographic Step (CWE-325) vulnerability exists in certain FeliCa IC chips shipped in or before 2017. If the vulnerability is exploited, information stored in the IC chip may be read or tampered with.
A vulnerability exists in certain FeliCa IC chips shipped by Sony Corporation in or before 2017, due to a missing cryptographic step that may weaken the intended security. This vulnerability could allow information stored in the IC chip to be read or tampered with.
Service providers are advised to assess the impact on their services and implement appropriate countermeasures according to the guidelines provided by Sony. Service users should manage their IC cards to prevent theft or skimming.
