Description
A Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition vulnerability in seunshare of selinux policycoreutils allows a user calling seunshare that is running in the unconfined SELinux domain to delete arbitrary root-owned files, This issue affects policycoreutils through 3.10.
A Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition vulnerability has been identified in the 'seunshare' utility of the SELinux policycoreutils package, specifically in versions through 3.10. This vulnerability allows an unconfined user to delete arbitrary root-owned files. The issue arises because 'seunshare', which is intended to run with elevated privileges to manage sandboxed applications, lacks proper safeguards against symbolic link manipulation. Exploitation involves creating a symlink to a target file, which 'seunshare' can then inadvertently delete, taking advantage of the timing of file operations.
Users can upgrade to policycoreutils version 3.11 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
