Description
In Bouncy Castle for Java before 1.85, MLS hash-ratchet honours arbitrary 32-bit generation counter from sender.
A vulnerability exists in Bouncy Castle for Java versions prior to 1.85, where the MLS hash-ratchet implementation improperly respects the 32-bit generation counter from the sender. This flaw can be exploited to drive key derivation processes unbounded, potentially leading to excessive CPU usage.
Users can upgrade to Bouncy Castle for Java version 1.85 or later to address this vulnerability.
