Description
Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ("Cross-site Scripting") vulnerability in Drupal Drupal Canvas allows Cross-Site Scripting (XSS). This issue affects Drupal Canvas versions: from 0.0.0 to 1.4.2, from 1.5.0 to 1.5.2, from 1.6.0 to 1.6.1, from 1.7.0 to 1.7.1.
A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in the Drupal Canvas module, affecting versions 0.0.0 through 1.4.2, 1.5.0 through 1.5.2, 1.6.0 through 1.6.1, and 1.7.0 through 1.7.1. The issue arises from improper validation of uploaded image files. While the module checks file extensions, it does not verify MIME types, allowing malicious users to upload non-image files. In certain web server configurations, these files could be served with their actual MIME type, potentially leading to XSS or other unexpected behaviors.
Users are advised to upgrade to the latest version of the Drupal Canvas module. Versions 1.4.2, 1.5.2, 1.6.1, and 1.7.1 are available.
