Description
A flaw in Node.js allows a spoofed `TypedArray` `byteLength` to trigger a reachable assertion in the synchronous `node:zlib` APIs, causing the entire process to crash. All 11 synchronous zlib functions are affected. Repeated exploitation of this condition can result in a denial of service. This vulnerability affects Node.js **22.x**, **24.x**, and **26.x**.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in Node.js versions 22.x, 24.x, and 26.x. The issue arises in the synchronous `node:zlib` APIs, where a spoofed `TypedArray` `byteLength` can trigger an assertion that leads to a process crash. This vulnerability affects all 11 synchronous zlib functions, and repeated exploitation can cause the process to become unresponsive.
Users can upgrade to Node.js versions 22.23.2, 24.18.1, or 26.6.0 to address this vulnerability.
