Description
Time-of-check time-of-use (toctou) race condition in Windows Subsystem for Linux allows an authorized attacker to perform tampering locally.
A time-of-check time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition vulnerability has been identified in the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL2) kernel. This vulnerability allows an authorized attacker to perform local tampering. The issue arises from a race condition where the timing of events can be manipulated, potentially leading to unauthorized changes or actions.
Users can download the security update for Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL2) from the Microsoft WSL installation guide. The vulnerability is addressed in WSL version 2.7.10.
