CVE-2026-57282 Details
Description
Jenkins Git client Plugin 6.6.0 and earlier does not correctly escape the workspace directory name when it is embedded into a generated SSH wrapper script, allowing attackers able to control the name of a build's working directory to execute arbitrary operating system commands on the agent.
A command injection vulnerability has been identified in the Jenkins Git Client Plugin, specifically in versions through 6.6.0. The issue arises because the plugin fails to properly escape workspace directory names when incorporated into an SSH wrapper script. This vulnerability allows attackers who can manipulate the name of a build's working directory to execute arbitrary operating system commands on the agent.
Users of the Jenkins Git Client Plugin should update to version 6.6.1, which addresses this vulnerability by changing the known_hosts file location, thereby preventing the workspace directory name from being included in the SSH wrapper script.
