Description
The application opens a PDF, but the cloud-like appearance of the construction process lacks proper setting of an upper limit and consistency checks. Out-of-bounds access to the underlying array is exposed, ultimately leading to a crash of the application.
A vulnerability exists in Foxit PDF Reader and Foxit PDF Editor for Windows and Mac, specifically in versions prior to 2026.1.2. The issue arises from improper validation of array indices, allowing out-of-bounds access to the underlying array. This flaw is exposed when the application processes certain PDFs embedded with JavaScript, which can manipulate annotation attributes. The lack of consistency checks and upper limit settings during the construction process creates a cloud-like appearance, ultimately leading to a crash. This vulnerability has the potential to be exploited for arbitrary code execution.
