CVE-2026-57220 Details
Description
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 4.2.6, the RabbitMQ stream listener does not enforce the configured stream frame-size limit while assembling frames during authentication and before Tune negotiation, allowing an unauthenticated remote client to declare oversized frame lengths and consume broker memory in rabbit_stream_core. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.6.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in RabbitMQ versions 4.2.0 prior to 4.2.6. The issue arises in the RabbitMQ stream listener, which fails to enforce the configured frame-size limit during authentication and before Tune negotiation. This oversight allows an unauthenticated remote client to declare oversized frame lengths, leading to excessive memory consumption on the broker. The vulnerability is present in the first-party 'rabbitmq_stream' listener on port 5552, and can be exploited without any credentials or management access.
Users can upgrade to RabbitMQ version 4.2.6, where this vulnerability has been patched.
