Description
NewsBlur before 14.5.0 contains a broken access control vulnerability that allows authenticated users to read private notification feeds by supplying arbitrary user_id values to the GET /social/interactions endpoint without ownership verification. Attackers can enumerate user_id values to access another user's follows, replies, and social activity without authorization.
A broken access control vulnerability has been identified in NewsBlur versions prior to 14.5.0. This vulnerability allows authenticated users to access private notification feeds by sending arbitrary user_id values to the GET /social/interactions endpoint, without proper ownership verification. As a result, attackers can enumerate user_id values to retrieve another user's follows, replies, and social activities without authorization.
Users can update to NewsBlur version 14.5.0 or later, where this vulnerability has been addressed.
