Description
ZITADEL is an open source identity management platform. Prior to 4.15.3, ZITADEL Login V2 OIDC and SAML FailedPrecondition error paths return loginSettings.defaultRedirectUri to router.push without applying the isSafeRedirectUri check, allowing an organization or instance administrator to store a javascript or data URI that can execute in a user's browser when an affected login error path is reached. This issue is fixed in version 4.15.3.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in ZITADEL Login V2, specifically in the OpenID Connect (OIDC) and SAML authentication flows. This issue affects versions 4.0.0 through 4.15.2. The vulnerability arises because certain error paths return a default redirect URI without proper validation, allowing an administrator to inject a malicious JavaScript or data URI. When a user encounters an affected login error, the injected URI can execute in their browser. The flaw has been addressed in version 4.15.3.
Users are advised to upgrade to ZITADEL version 4.15.3 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
