Description
ImageMagick before 7.1.2-24 contains an incorrect policy check that allows attackers to create or truncate files disallowed by security policies. Remote attackers can bypass path policy restrictions in sandboxed conversion services to write arbitrary files outside intended boundaries.
A policy bypass vulnerability has been identified in ImageMagick versions prior to 7.1.2-24 and 6.9.13-48. This vulnerability arises from an incorrect policy check that enables attackers to create or truncate files that security policies should disallow. Remote attackers can exploit this flaw to bypass path policy restrictions in sandboxed conversion services, writing arbitrary files outside of designated boundaries.
Users can upgrade to ImageMagick versions 7.1.2-24 or 6.9.13-48 to address this vulnerability.
