Description
Capgo before 12.128.2 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability where write-scoped API keys can directly mutate protected channel configuration fields through PostgREST by exploiting a null authentication check in the immutability trigger. Attackers with write API keys can modify sensitive channel attributes such as public, allow_emulator, and security-related flags outside intended application routes.
An authorization bypass vulnerability has been identified in Capgo versions prior to 12.128.2. This vulnerability allows write-scoped API keys to directly modify protected channel configuration fields through PostgREST. The issue arises from a null authentication check in the immutability trigger, which is supposed to prevent unauthorized changes to channel records. As a result, attackers with write API keys can alter sensitive channel attributes, such as visibility and security-related flags, outside of the intended application routes.
Users are advised to update Capgo to version 12.128.2 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
