Description
Use of uninitialized resource in Windows RDP allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network.
A remote code execution vulnerability has been identified in Windows Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) services. This issue arises from the use of uninitialized resources, allowing an unauthorized attacker to execute code over the network. The vulnerability affects multiple Windows products and versions, including various Windows Server releases, Windows 10, and Windows 11. Exploitation is possible by sending specially crafted RDP traffic to systems with Network Level Authentication (NLA) disabled, leading to memory corruption that could be leveraged to control memory operations and potentially compromise the affected system.
Users can apply the security update for this vulnerability, which is included in the July 2026 Monthly Rollup for all affected Windows versions. Instructions for downloading the security update are available on the Microsoft Update Catalog.
