Description
Use after free in Windows MIDI Service Module allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally.
A use-after-free vulnerability has been identified in the Windows MIDI Service Module, allowing an authorized attacker to locally elevate privileges. This vulnerability arises from improper memory management, which can be exploited to gain unauthorized access to elevated rights on the affected system.
Users can apply the security update KB5101649 to address this vulnerability. This update is available through the Microsoft Update Catalog. For Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2 on both x64 and ARM64-based systems, the same update KB5101650 can be applied.
