CVE-2026-56132 Details
Description
In libexpat before 2.8.2, there is a heap-based buffer overflow in doProlog in xmlparse.c because scaffold backing array reallocation is mishandled when there is data-structure sharing across parsers.
A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in libexpat versions prior to 2.8.2. The issue arises in the doProlog function within xmlparse.c, where improper handling of scaffold backing array reallocation leads to out-of-bounds data access. This vulnerability is caused by mishandled data-structure sharing across parsers.
Users can upgrade to libexpat version 2.8.2 or later to address this vulnerability.
