CVE-2026-55739 Details
Description
Crater isolates data per company_id, and its Invoice/Estimate/Payment/Expense policies enforce both a Bouncer ability check and ->hasCompany(->company_id). CustomerPolicy's view/update/delete methods omit the company-ownership check entirely, checking only the blanket ability. Route-model-bound customer lookups and the bulk Customer::deleteCustomers method are similarly unscoped (self::find with no company filter).
A vulnerability in Crater's data isolation and policy enforcement allows authenticated users to access and manipulate customer records belonging to other companies. The issue arises because the CustomerPolicy's view, update, and delete methods do not enforce company ownership, relying instead on a general ability check. This oversight, combined with unscoped customer lookups and the bulk deletion method, enables users to read, reassign, or delete customer records across different companies. Deleting a customer record also removes associated invoices and payments.
