Description
Cloudreve is a self-hosted file management and sharing system. Prior to 4.17.0, a single-file share event-stream subscription resolves the share root to the owner’s parent folder and subscribes to that folder topic, allowing an authenticated share recipient to receive names, paths, rename targets, event types, and hashed identifiers for unshared sibling files and folders. This issue is fixed in version 4.17.0.
A vulnerability in Cloudreve prior to version 4.17.0 allows authenticated recipients of single-file shares to access event streams from the owner's parent folder. This issue arises because the event subscription incorrectly targets the parent folder of the shared file, rather than the file itself. As a result, recipients can receive metadata about unshared sibling files and folders, including names, paths, rename targets, event types, and hashed identifiers. The vulnerability is rooted in improper event subscription management for single-file shares, leading to unauthorized access to file-activity metadata from the owner's parent folder.
Users should update to Cloudreve version 4.17.0 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
