Description
Tugtainer is a self-hosted app for automating updates of Docker containers. Prior to version 1.30.4, Tugtainer Agent allows unauthenticated access to Docker management APIs when AGENT_SECRET is not configured. The Agent uses request signatures to protect its API routes. However, in agent/auth.py, the signature verification function returns successfully if Config.AGENT_SECRET is empty. This causes protected Agent APIs to become accessible without authentication. This issue has been patched in version 1.30.4.
A vulnerability in Tugtainer Agent, prior to version 1.30.4, allows unauthenticated access to Docker management APIs when the AGENT_SECRET environment variable is not set. The Agent is designed to use request signatures for protecting its API routes. However, the signature verification function in agent/auth.py fails to enforce this protection if AGENT_SECRET is empty, leaving critical Docker management APIs exposed without authentication. This issue has been patched in version 1.30.4.
Users should update to Tugtainer version 1.30.4 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed. After updating, ensure that the AGENT_SECRET environment variable is set to a strong, random value.
