CVE-2026-55481 Details
Description
Snipe-IT is an IT asset/license management system. Prior to 8.6.2, default.blade.php renders header_color and related branding color settings inside a CSS style block with HTML escaping that is insufficient for the CSS context, allowing a superadmin to inject arbitrary CSS that affects authenticated users on subsequent page loads when Content Security Policy is disabled. This issue is fixed in version 8.6.2.
A CSS injection vulnerability has been identified in Snipe-IT versions prior to 8.6.2. The issue arises in the default.blade.php file, where the header_color and related branding color settings are rendered inside a CSS style block. The HTML escaping applied is inadequate for the CSS context, allowing a superadmin to inject arbitrary CSS. This injected CSS affects authenticated users on subsequent page loads, particularly when the Content Security Policy (CSP) is disabled, which is the default state for Snipe-IT installations.
Users can upgrade to Snipe-IT version 8.6.2 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched. Additionally, enabling Content Security Policy in the .env file can help mitigate the risk.
