Description
Snipe-IT is an IT asset/license management system. Prior to 8.6.2, UsersController::show() and printInventory() authorize only user viewing before loading and rendering assigned license, accessory, and consumable relationships, allowing an authenticated user with only users.view to see inventory and cost/order metadata from modules that direct permissions would otherwise deny. This issue is fixed in version 8.6.2.
An authorization bypass vulnerability has been identified in Snipe-IT versions prior to 8.6.2. The issue resides in the UsersController, specifically within the show() and printInventory() methods. These methods only verify user viewing permissions before accessing and rendering related data on licenses, accessories, and consumables. As a result, an authenticated user with limited permissions can inadvertently access inventory details and associated cost or order information from modules that their permissions should restrict.
Users are advised to update to Snipe-IT version 8.6.2 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
