CVE-2026-54909 Details
Description
pion/stun is a Go implementation of STUN. Prior to 3.1.3, XORMappedAddress.GetFromAs can panic while parsing a malformed short XOR-MAPPED-ADDRESS attribute in STUN or ICE Binding-response parsing paths, allowing remote denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 3.1.3.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in the Pion STUN library, specifically in versions prior to 3.1.3. The issue arises in the XORMappedAddress.GetFromAs method, where the parser can panic when encountering a malformed short XOR-MAPPED-ADDRESS attribute. This panic occurs during the parsing of STUN or ICE Binding-response, leading to a remote denial-of-service condition.
Users are advised to upgrade to Pion STUN version 3.1.5 or later, which includes the necessary fix. Version 3.1.3 also addresses this issue.
