Description
DriveLock SQL Injection Privilege Escalation Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of DriveLock. Authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the web service, which listens on TCP port 4568 by default. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied string before using it to construct SQL queries. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges to resources normally protected from the user. . Was ZDI-CAN-28726.
A SQL injection vulnerability allowing privilege escalation has been identified in DriveLock Enterprise Service (DES) versions through 24.2.8, 25.1.6, and 25.2.3. The vulnerability arises from improper validation of user-supplied input in the web service's Resource Query Language (RQL) translation to SQL, enabling authenticated remote attackers to inject arbitrary SQL statements. Exploitation of this flaw could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data and resources typically protected from the user.
Users are advised to update to DriveLock versions 24.2.9, 25.1.7, or 25.2.4, and to consult the DriveLock Security Bulletin #26-002 for further guidance.
