Description
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.13.0, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This requires merging a file with outlines into a writer. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.13.0.
A vulnerability in pypdf versions prior to 6.13.0 allows an attacker to create a PDF that causes an infinite loop when processed. This issue arises when a file with outlines is merged into a writer, leading to excessive looping that can disrupt normal operations.
Users can upgrade to pypdf version 6.13.0 or later to address this vulnerability. If an immediate upgrade is not possible, the changes from PR #3830 can be applied as a temporary workaround.
