Description
In Roundcube Webmail before 1.6.17 and 1.7.x before 1.7.2, there is Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via a crafted plain-text email message. The attacker-controlled JavaScript executes within the victim's authenticated session simply by opening or previewing the message (zero-click).
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Roundcube Webmail versions prior to 1.6.17 and 1.7.x prior to 1.7.2. This vulnerability allows an attacker to inject JavaScript into a plain-text email message, which is executed in the context of the victim's authenticated session when the message is opened or previewed, creating a zero-click exploit.
Users are advised to update to Roundcube Webmail versions 1.6.17 or 1.7.2. Instructions for updating can be found on the Roundcube GitHub release pages for these versions.
