Description
OpenClaw before 2026.4.25 contains an input validation vulnerability in tool group policy callers that accept unvalidated group IDs. Attackers who can supply a group ID to the policy resolver could trigger incorrect group-policy decisions for tool invocations, potentially bypassing intended access controls.
A vulnerability exists in OpenClaw versions prior to 2026.4.25, allowing tool group policy callers to accept unvalidated group IDs. This input validation flaw could enable attackers to manipulate group-policy decisions for tool invocations, potentially bypassing access controls. The issue arises when the affected feature is enabled and reachable, with the practical impact depending on the operator's configuration and the trust level of the input.
Users are advised to update to OpenClaw version 2026.4.25 or later. Until then, avoid exposing group-policy controlled tools to untrusted senders, keep channel and tool allowlists narrow, and disable the affected feature when not needed.
