CVE-2026-53689 Details
Description
libnfs through 6.0.2 before 55c18ea does not validate a string size, leading to an integer overflow during a connection to a crafted NFS server. This occurs in libnfs_zdr_string in lib/libnfs-zdr.c.
An integer overflow vulnerability has been identified in libnfs versions through 6.0.2 prior to the commit 55c18ea. The issue arises in the string handling function 'libnfs_zdr_string' within 'lib/libnfs-zdr.c', where the library fails to properly validate string sizes. This lack of validation can lead to an overflow when establishing a connection to a manipulated NFS server.
