Description
A flaw was found in assisted-migration-agent. An unauthenticated attacker, located on the same local area network (LAN), can exploit a path traversal vulnerability. By crafting a specially designed gzipped tarball, the attacker can bypass security checks and write arbitrary files to the system. This could ultimately lead to the execution of unauthorized code on the appliance.
A path traversal vulnerability has been identified in the KubeV2V Assisted Migration Agent. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker on the same local area network to exploit the application by sending a specially crafted gzipped tarball. The attack bypasses security checks and enables the attacker to write arbitrary files to the system. This could result in the execution of unauthorized code on the affected appliance.
The vulnerability has been fixed in the KubeV2V Assisted Migration Agent. Users should update to the latest version.
