CVE-2026-53312 Details
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/riscv: Remove overflows on the invalidation path Since RISC-V supports a sign extended page table it should support a gather->end of ULONG_MAX, but if this happens it will infinite loop because of the overflow. Also avoid overflow computing the length by moving the +1 to the other side of the <
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RISC-V IOMMU implementation can lead to an infinite loop during the invalidation process. This issue arises because RISC-V supports a sign-extended page table, which can theoretically allow a gather-to-end operation of ULONG_MAX. If this occurs, it causes an overflow that disrupts the normal processing, creating an infinite loop. The vulnerability affects several versions of the Linux kernel.
Users can upgrade to the latest version of the Linux kernel where this vulnerability has been addressed.
