CVE-2026-53178 Details
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: rtl8723bs: rtw_mlme: add bounds checks before ie_length subtraction Add guards to ensure ie_length is large enough before subtracting fixed IE offsets to prevent unsigned integer underflow.
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's staging area for the RTL8723BS driver has been addressed. This issue involved an unsigned integer underflow caused by improper bounds checks on the length of information elements (IEs) before subtracting fixed offsets. The vulnerability was located in the 'rtw_mlme' component of the driver.
Users can download the patched version of the Linux kernel from the official Linux kernel Git repository.
