Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/riscv: Add IOTINVAL after updating DDT/PDT entries Add riscv_iommu_iodir_iotinval() to perform required TLB and context cache invalidations after updating DDT or PDT entries, as mandated by the RISC-V IOMMU specification (Section 6.3.1 and 6.3.2).
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's IOMMU RISC-V implementation has been addressed. The issue involved the absence of necessary TLB and context cache invalidations after updating Device Directory Table (DDT) or Page Directory Table (PDT) entries, as required by the RISC-V IOMMU specification. This vulnerability was present in the Linux kernel prior to the application of the latest patch, which added a function to perform the required invalidations. The vulnerability could potentially lead to inconsistencies in the IOMMU's handling of memory addresses, which could be exploited in certain scenarios.
Users can apply the latest patch available in the Linux kernel stable tree to address this vulnerability. The patch can be downloaded as part of the Linux kernel source code.
