CVE-2026-53020 Details
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: um: Fix potential race condition in TLB sync During the TLB sync, we need to traverse and modify the page table, so we should hold the page table lock. Since full SMP support for threads within the same process is still missing, let's disable the split page table lock for simplicity.
A potential race condition vulnerability has been addressed in the Linux kernel's user mode (UM) architecture. During the translation lookaside buffer (TLB) synchronization process, the page table must be traversed and modified, necessitating the use of the page table lock. However, because full symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) support for threads within the same process is not yet available, the split page table lock has been disabled for simplicity. This vulnerability could lead to inconsistent TLB synchronization, potentially causing memory management issues.
Users can apply the latest patches available in the Linux kernel stable tree to address this vulnerability.
