CVE-2026-51870 Details
Description
DeepTutor v1.4.0 is vulnerable to command execution in /tutorbot/agent/tools/shell.py:ExecTool.execute.
A command execution vulnerability exists in DeepTutor version 1.4.0 within the ExecTool component of the TutorBot agent. This issue allows user prompts to indirectly trigger arbitrary commands executed in the host's shell environment. The vulnerability arises because TutorBots can be configured to use the ExecTool, which executes commands generated by a language model through a WebSocket connection.
Users can update to DeepTutor version 1.4.1, which includes a security patch that hardens the ExecTool defaults against command injection.
