Buffer Overflow vulnerability in Tenda AC10 v3 (firmware V03.03.16.09) allows attackers to cause a permanent Denial of Service (DoS) or potentially execute remote code via the /cgi-bin/UploadCfg endpoint
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Tenda AC10 V3 router, specifically in firmware version V03.03.16.09. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers to cause a permanent denial-of-service condition or potentially execute remote code by exploiting the '/cgi-bin/UploadCfg' endpoint. The issue arises from a post-authentication buffer overflow, where the router's configuration file integrity verification is bypassed due to a weak checksum implementation. Attackers can upload a crafted configuration file that triggers the buffer overflow, leading to a 'bricked' device that requires physical intervention to restore.
No official patch or remediation is currently available for this vulnerability.
