CVE-2026-51269 Details
Description
Rejected reason: DO NOT USE THIS CVE RECORD. ConsultIDs: none. Reason: This record was withdrawn by its CNA. Further investigation showed that it was not a security issue. Notes: none.
A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in schreibfaul1 ESP32-audioI2S version 3.4.5. The issue arises in the connecttospeech() function, which handles text-to-speech requests. The vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by exploiting the application's failure to validate input length. The function accepts untrusted speech text, performs URL encoding that increases the input size, and appends the encoded data to a fixed-size heap buffer without proper boundary checks. This oversight leads to out-of-bounds heap writes, causing memory corruption and potential code execution on the affected ESP32 device.
A vendor patch is currently in active development.
