CVE-2026-51268 Details
Description
Rejected reason: DO NOT USE THIS CVE RECORD. ConsultIDs: none. Reason: This record was withdrawn by its CNA. Further investigation showed that it was not a security issue. Notes: none.
A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in schreibfaul1 ESP32-audioI2S version 3.4.5. The issue arises in the dismantle_host() function, which parses untrusted host and URL input. The function uses clone_from() to copy parsed segments into fixed-size heap buffers without proper boundary checking. This vulnerability allows for out-of-bounds heap writes and PSRAM memory corruption on affected ESP32 hardware, potentially leading to a remote denial-of-service condition or, under certain circumstances, remote arbitrary code execution.
A patch for this vulnerability is currently under development, but not yet released.
