A heap buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in Schreibfaul1 ESP32-audioI2S version 3.4.5. The issue arises in the MP3Decoder::decode() function, where the decoder processes untrusted mainDataBegin and nSlots values from MP3 bitstream data without proper size validation. This lack of validation allows for out-of-bounds writes to a heap buffer, leading to memory corruption. Exploitation of this vulnerability can cause a device crash, freezing audio services, or potentially allow arbitrary code execution on affected ESP32 hardware.
