CVE-2026-51105 Details
Description
Buffer Overflow vulnerability in aMULE-Project aMule v.2.3.3 allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service via the OP_SERVERMESSAGE Handler.
A heap buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in aMule version 2.3.3, specifically within the OP_SERVERMESSAGE handler of the CServerSocket class. This vulnerability allows remote e2k servers to send malformed packets that trigger an unsigned integer underflow. The resulting heap buffer overflow can cause application crashes and potentially allow for arbitrary code execution, depending on the state of the heap.
Users are advised to update to aMule version 3.0.0 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed. The fix involves adding proper size validation for OP_SERVERMESSAGE packets to prevent the unsigned underflow that leads to the buffer overflow.
