Description
A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE) 9.x 5.1.8 and Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE) 8.x 4.3.16 allows attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts or HTML via injecting a crafted payload.
A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE) versions 9.x 5.1.8 and 8.x 4.3.16. This vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts or HTML by injecting a crafted payload. The issue arises in the web interface, specifically within the HTTP proxy, WebAuthN, and U2F setting dialogues, which are susceptible to XSS when edited by users with the 'Sys.Modify' privilege, typically granted to administrators.
Users can upgrade to Proxmox VE 9.0.5 or 8.4.11 to address this vulnerability.
