CVE-2026-50812 Details
Description
A NULL pointer dereference in the SQLite Session Extension in SQLite 3.53.1 and SQLite trunk builds before check-in e807d4e3798efd53 allows an attacker who can supply a malformed changeset blob to cause a denial of service. The issue occurs when sqlite3changeset_apply_v3() applies a corrupt changeset and reaches sqlite3_value_type() with a NULL sqlite3_value pointer.
A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability has been identified in the SQLite Session Extension, specifically in SQLite version 3.53.1 and trunk builds prior to the e807d4e3798efd53 check-in. This vulnerability allows an attacker to cause a denial-of-service by supplying a malformed changeset blob. The issue arises when the function sqlite3changeset_apply_v3() processes a corrupt changeset and passes a NULL sqlite3_value pointer to sqlite3_value_type(), leading to a process crash.
Users can upgrade to the latest version of SQLite, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
