Description
Use after free in Windows Remote Desktop Services allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network.
A use-after-free vulnerability has been identified in Windows Remote Desktop Services, allowing an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network. This vulnerability affects multiple versions of Windows Server and Windows 10, as well as Windows 11. The issue arises from improper memory management, where an attacker can exploit memory allocation errors to gain higher privileges.
Users can apply the security update for this vulnerability, which is included in the July 2026 Monthly Rollup for all affected Windows versions. Instructions for downloading this update are available on the Microsoft Update Catalog.
