Description
Loop with unreachable exit condition ('infinite loop') in Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) allows an unauthorized attacker to deny service over a network.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS). This issue arises from a loop with an unreachable exit condition, creating an infinite loop that allows an unauthorized attacker to disrupt service over the network. The vulnerability affects multiple Windows Server and Windows 10 versions.
Users can apply the security update KB5099538 for Windows Server 2019, Windows 10 Version 1809 (both x64 and 32-bit), and the security update KB5099536 for Windows Server 2025 and Windows Server 2025 (Server Core installation). For Windows Server 2022, the security update KB5099540 is available. Windows Server 2016 and 2012 R2 users can also apply the respective security updates for those versions.
