Description
DataEase is an open source data visualization and analysis tool. Prior to 2.10.23, DataEase SQL preview exposes DatasetDataApi.previewSql/previewSqlCheck through /de2api/datasetData/previewSql, accepts PreviewSqlDTO.sql, PreviewSqlDTO.datasourceId, and PreviewSqlDTO.isCross, then DatasetDataManage.previewSql stores decoded SQL in datasourceRequest.query and CalciteProvider.fetchResultField executes it with prepareStatement(...).executeQuery(), allowing arbitrary readable datasource tables to be queried and returned in preview responses. This issue is fixed in version 2.10.23.
A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in DataEase versions prior to 2.10.23. The issue arises in the SQL preview feature of the DatasetDataApi, which exposes an endpoint that accepts SQL queries, datasource IDs, and a cross-datasource flag. The backend decodes the SQL and executes it against the specified datasource, allowing attackers to query arbitrary tables and exfiltrate data. This vulnerability is particularly concerning as it bypasses normal query validation and permission checks, directly executing user-supplied SQL on the backend.
Users are advised to upgrade to DataEase version 2.10.23 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
