Description
A local file disclosure vulnerability in the XInclude processing component of Inkscape 1.1 before 1.3 allows a remote attacker to read local files via a crafted SVG file containing malicious xi:include tags.
A local file disclosure vulnerability has been identified in Inkscape versions 1.1 prior to 1.3, within the XInclude processing component. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to read local files by sending a crafted SVG file that includes malicious xi:include tags. The issue arises when Inkscape is used to convert SVG files to PDF, as the application processes the included file references and can inadvertently expose sensitive information from the local file system.
Users can update to Inkscape version 1.2.3 or 1.4, both of which include the necessary fix. Instructions for downloading the latest version can be found on the Inkscape website.
