Description
IBM i 7.6, 7.5, 7.4, and 7.3 could allow a remote attacker to send a specifically crafted message and downgrade the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol to a version disabled in the server configuration.
A vulnerability exists in IBM i versions 7.6, 7.5, 7.4, and 7.3, allowing remote attackers to send specially crafted messages that downgrade the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol to a version that has been disabled in the server configuration. This issue arises from the selection of less-secure algorithms during the negotiation process, creating an 'algorithm downgrade' vulnerability.
Users can upgrade to the following fixed versions: IBM i 7.6 (PTF MJ09141), IBM i 7.5 (PTF MJ09140), IBM i 7.4 (PTF MJ09139), and IBM i 7.3 (PTF MJ09138).
