Description
The affected product is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow via a crafted MMS Initiate request. Remote code execution (RCE) has been demonstrated when ASLR is disabled; memory corruption or denial of service may occur in configurations where ASLR is enabled.
A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in MZ Automation libIEC61850 versions 1.0.0 through 1.6.1. This vulnerability can be exploited via a crafted MMS Initiate request, leading to remote code execution when Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) is disabled. In configurations where ASLR is enabled, the vulnerability may cause memory corruption or denial-of-service conditions.
