Description
In affected versions of Octopus Server, permissions were not checked correctly resulting in any authenticated user being able to make server level changes using a certain API endpoint despite receiving an error.
A broken access control vulnerability has been identified in Octopus Server. In affected versions, permissions were not properly validated, allowing any authenticated user to make server-level changes through a specific API endpoint, even though an error was returned. This issue affects all 2023.x and 2024.x versions, as well as various 2025.x and 2026.1.x versions prior to the latest patches. Users who have upgraded to Octopus Server version 2026.1.11481 or higher are not affected.
Users are advised to upgrade to Octopus Server version 2026.1.11481 or, if on an earlier 2026.1.x version, to version 2026.1.11313. For those on Octopus Server 2025.4.x, upgrade to version 2025.4.10545 or greater. The latest and previous versions of Octopus Server can be downloaded from the Octopus Deploy website.
