Description
Postiz is an AI social media scheduling tool. Prior to 2.21.8, Postiz fails to verify Nowpayments IPN callback authenticity against the payment provider shared secret and reads the target subscription identifier from the untrusted request body, allowing a low-privileged account to grant arbitrary organizations lifetime PRO subscriptions without payment. This issue is fixed in version 2.21.8.
A vulnerability in Postiz, an AI social media scheduling tool, prior to version 2.21.8, allows low-privileged accounts to grant arbitrary organizations lifetime PRO subscriptions without payment. This is achieved by exploiting the application's failure to verify the authenticity of Nowpayments IPN callbacks against a shared secret. Instead, the application reads the subscription identifier from an untrusted request body. The vulnerability impacts the integrity of the subscription and billing system, leading to revenue loss for the operator.
Users are advised to upgrade to Postiz version 2.21.8 or later.
