Description
Use after free in Windows Kernel allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally.
A use-after-free vulnerability in the Windows Kernel has been identified, allowing an authorized attacker to locally elevate privileges. This vulnerability affects multiple Windows 10 versions, Windows 11, and various Windows Server releases. The issue arises from improper memory management, which can be exploited to gain higher system privileges.
Users can apply the security update KB5094122 for Windows 10 Version 22H2 (32-bit and x64-based Systems), Windows 10 Version 21H2 (32-bit and x64-based Systems), Windows 10 Version 1809 (32-bit and x64-based Systems), and for Windows Server 2019 (Server Core installation). For Windows 11, the security update KB5095051 is available for Version 26H1 (ARM64 and x64-based Systems), and for Version 23H2 (ARM64 and x64-based Systems). Windows Server 2022 (Server Core installation) also has a security update available. Users can download these security updates through the Microsoft Update Catalog.
